Fix Hot Pixel – Canon SLR

After shooting with my Canon 50D for a while i realized there was a hot blue pixel in all pictures, i was about to send of my camera to canon to get that fix. but i was postponing sending it off because i didnt want to be left without a camera, so after some searching i came across a very simple and harmless quick fix. I was surprised that it worked, but it did!

Hot Pixel Fix for the Canon 50D worked for Rebel XTi as well:

- Remove the lens and put the body cap in place on the camera
- Put the camera in to “manual sensor cleaning mode”. It is the same for both the 40D and 50D – Press the “Menu” button, then select the middle “yellow wrench” tab, then “Sensor Cleaning” then “Clean Manually”. You will hear – the click of the mirror coming up (so you *could* be using a swab on the sensor – but don’t do that – leave the body cap in place).
- Leave the camera in this mode for 30-60 seconds, I kept it this way for closer to 60 seconds.
- Power off the camera off – you should hear another click as the mirror drops down into place
- That was it. Test the camera and see if the dead pixels are gone – they were for me.

I still have no idea why/how this works, but it does. I was about to send in my camera to Canon to Fix this problem, but this was way easier!

i tried on my 5d. its worked. although the bad pixel still there, but much better than before. very good.

Work title: Please Say Nothing-Interactive Movie

Introduction

“Please Say Nothing” is an interactive animation formed by flip books. The story is talk about the natural and environment problems using cartoon style. The reason I combined the flip books and the interactive movie experiment was that it can give audiences more profound understanding of the idea from physical interactive and story interactive. When the audience play the animation by their thumb, they will get experience beyond movie itself and involved in the development of the story as well. 

The story is talk about a living seed face of the choices when his home has been destroyed. For an interactive movie, it will present several different endings, some bad and some good. It si just like our real life, what we do to this world is our choice. The future will change better if we be friendly for the planet.

The animation is called “Please Say Nothing” because in certain country or place, people make headlines for environment issues hypocritical, however, they still to damage the environment by themselves for their money temptation. I want to show that action is more important than talking on these issues. Therefore, I want people will do more than talk. Live or die, actually in the grasp of our fingers.

final decision for the final show

This is my final decision for the final show-put the books on the tree branch. Tree=paper  did I protect the tree...... this is the funny contrast. But I want to say is the nature support our daily life.
For the story map, I will draw it in the wall, just keep it simple and easy to see.

I like the style of the animation. In the final show, he will live show or just show at first day? For me, I may suggest he make live show by audiences. I mean the audience can be the DJ. I think it will be lots of fun. And his animation is non linear story, so when audience play the animation the story telling is not problem.

Raquel Estevez Fernandez

The idea is fine, but I want to know what kind video will show in the screens. Is any story in the video? I know a toy call Matchstick Men, in the little screen the matchstick man can walk across the screen to another screen. Its very interesting.

Rod Dioso

The installation idea is very interesting. However, the motion graphic is not that good. I mean the audiences may not get the concept. But I’m not sure how the final one look like. For me, may be the talk show or documentary will better, because the topic is a little bit hard to persent.

To be honest, I didn’t see strong 3d when the picture changed. May be you should use some real 3d software to do the pictures. I find a online training is talk about the stereoscopic 3d in Maya

Her work has same style with her graphic work. For a artist which is great. Her work must put on a huge wall that can heart-quake audience.

Bill’s idea is fine. I don’t why he give up the interactive from his work. But if its just motion that should more support from hifi and projector. If the sound and image is not enough good, the audience may not be attracted.

Ran Chen
Her work combine chinese culture and digital arts which is very smart idea. My suggest the project keep low-pitched. I mean when audience watch the show they may don’t really know they are in the show. Its just like fish in the web. If it’s work that will lots of fun.

I think her don’t need spend too much time in the video. Because the whole show in my mind should like a religious. So when audience in the show they should feel mystery. Its just like death and life. But this is just my personal idea.

His work is really technology work for me. But one thing is what the concept about this. May be it is code + arts..... i’m not sure. But if you can present a better concept that will be great.

For hong, I think the most importent thing is contrast. The idea is really easy to attract audience to stop and look. So now I’m really want know what will audience look and let them think. So just keep working.

Sorry lina I’m not sure what you want to say to audience. I guess the story is about teen age love...... You didn’t present your idea clearly. And I’m worried can you finish your animation on time? Or you just want show the wireframe style cartoon? In proposal, you said your animation was repose on the magic cube, but now seems the cube was gone. If you deleted the cube, how about your story?

I watched a show was very interesting. The artist pull on a white clothing then use projector shot the movie to the white clothing. When people look the show, the artist look wearing a video clothing. I can’t remember his name, but I think the digital dress worked in his show. I don’t know what your final show look like. But hope you make it great as well.

DJ use live sound, this is what I’m really want to see in the final show. The only thing I want to know about your project is how about other day in the show. Or you will recode a video play in the show?

Final flip book print

I pint 3 flip books for test yestday. The outcome is good and not too expensive. But I prepare to bind the problem was come. The worker said the book is too small to bind. So I take it go home to bind them by myself.
I research some way to bind the book in very old chinese way. Which is no pollution, strong, easy, and nice.

I didn't do the absolutely same bind. I change a little. It would make my book stonger.

I make a transparence plastic paper cover. It can protect I books.

Im very happy for the final book. Its looks fine.

final show idea

This day I was thing about the final show idea. And I get 3 iaea which is good I think.
1.Domino seting

In this idea, I want set the flip book look like the domino. Audience can push the book to play all book. The concept came from food chain. One destroy will influence others.

I like the idea, but its seems put too much in the project. And If I use this idea I don't know where should I drawing the story map. So Im think about it now.

2.wall painting

In this idea, I want draw a painting in the wall. The painting will show the basic story. I personally like this idea, but the drawing is a big project.

3. simple wall

This idea is keep all the things simple. In the wall, audience just see the B/W line map. The flip books will in the square. I want let audience think by themselves. But I don't like the idea very much. Now I just keep this idea.

Im not sure which will I ues for the final show. I will make a decision asap.

Mighty Wallet-Tyvek wallet

Today I go to design museum' shop, I find a wallet call "Mighty Wallet". I find the wallet made by Tyvek-a kind of recyclable materials-it is very interesting. I searched online, then I found
Tyvek (pronounced /taɪˈvɛk/) is a brand of flashspun high-density polyethylene fibers, a synthetic material; the name is a registered trademark of DuPont. The material is very strong; it is difficult to tear but can easily be cut with scissors or any other sharp object. Water vapor can pass through Tyvek (highly breathable), but not liquid water, so the material lends itself to a variety of applications: medical packaging, envelopes, car covers, air and water intrusionbarriers (housewrap) under house siding, labels, wristbands, mycology, and graphics. Tyvek is sometimes erroneously called "Tyvex".

I was think about, can I use it in my project. I may use the material to make my books' cover. I'm not sure now. Still thinking.......
